My husband’s gg grandparents were James Standen and Ann Goodin/Gooding. James Standen was born at Kent (according to his immigration & death records) in March 1822. His NSW death records him dying on 6 August 1909 with age recorded at 86 years and seven months.
James immigrated to NSW per the SS Berkshire arriving in Sydney on 13 March 1841 – details below:

Name: James Standen
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1823 
Age: 18 
Gender: Male 
Voyage Arrival Date: 13 Mar 1841
Vessel Name: Berkshire 
Arrival: barque Berkshire
James Married Ann Goodin (Gooding)(Ann arrived in Aust with her family in 1839) 8 Sep 1853 at the Presbyterian Church, Pitt St Sydney. They had nine children before Ann died on 1 Aug 1881.
James remarried to Susannah Shortus (nee Johnston) at Enmore Rd, Summer Hill, NSW on 19 Dec 1882. There were nil issue from this marriage. Susannah Standen died at Smith St, Summer Hill on 25 June 1897. James died at 21 Dover Street, Summer Hill on 6 August 1909.
James’s death certificate records him being a draper; he was a male of 86 years and 7 months; Parents unknown; Informant was D W Pedrana (Duncan W Pedrana who married Amy Standen), son in law of Summer Hill; James was buried at COE cemetery Balmain on 8 Aug 1909; Minister was Geo T Waldon; Where born – Kent; how long in Aust colonies – 65 years in NSW; Marriages – 1. Ann Goodin in Newtown, Sydney, and Susannah Shortus when James was aged 60 years; children names were, Ellen 55 years, James 51 years, Annie H 45 years, William J 42 years (my husband’s g grandfather), May 39 years, Amy 36 years. 2 males and 1 female were deceased.
These children fit in with my husband’s ancestors:
   Helen (1854-dec.)
   Mary Ann  (1856-1857)
   James Henry  (1858-1915)
   Samuel G  (1861-1902)
   Harriet Ann  (1863-1864)
   Annie H (1865-dec.)
   William John  (1867-1930)
   Mary J (1870-dec.)
   Amy (1873-dec.)
I would like to correspond with other Standen family members if possible.

We are looking for information re Edward Standen's marriage to Catherine Ligent, 1829, Tasmania. Edward married again to Priscilla Niblett in Victoria. Their daughter, Ellen is my wife's Great grandmother.
